Cor Ax, the Managing Director of Shimano Europe Fishing Holding, and Katrin Säenger, of Top Tackle System, Germany, were voted onto the Board at the Annual General Assembly (AGA) of EFTTA, which was held during EFTTEX.
Ax, who joined the Japanese-based tackle giant in 2013 as International Sales Director, has replaced former President of EFTTA, Pierangelo Zanetta, who has stepped down for health reasons. Säenger has replaced her father, Hans-Jurgen, who did not seek re-election.
Bernard Leveque, of Sensas SA, France, was re-elected to serve another term.
In his first address as President of EFTTA, Robin Morley, paid tribute to his predecessor, Zanetti for his work with the association. “Our appreciation goes to Pierangelo for his commitment to the fishing tackle industry. He was passionate about the trade and on behalf of the Board I would like to thank him.”
Welcoming members to the 35th EFTTEX, Morley, Managing Director of Daiwa UK, said that exhibitors had ‘upped their game’. “The exhibition hall looked fantastic,” he added.
“I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone for their continued support – some of you have been exhibiting since the very first show and we would like to say how honoured we are to have your dedicated loyalty. EFTTA 2016 sold out in November, once again proving Amsterdam to be a popular destination for the show and a record first-day attendance only served to underline that fact.”
