EFTTEX 2016 welcomed a record number of visitors on the first day of the show with 1,180 attending the event in Amsterdam, to get the show off to a flying start.
In total 1,607 visitors, including press and exhibitor guests went through the doors during the three day exhibition with 1,344 (83.6%) hailing from Europe and 263 (16,4%) from the rest of the world. In all 208 exhibitors and co exhibitors from 37 countries took booths at the show.
Unsurprisingly, the Netherlands provided most of the visiting retailers and wholesalers with 105 and 125 respectively. Wholesalers made up the majority of visitors – 52.7%, followed by retailers (34.5%), manufacturers (10.6%) and agents (2.2%).
Top countries that visited EFTTEX included Netherlands, Germany, France, Italy United Kingdom, Russia, Spain, Finland, China, Japan, Poland, USA and Belgium.
EFTTA CEO, Jean-Claude Bel said: “We are delighted by the attendance at the show, but it comes as no surprise because Amsterdam is a very popular venue. It was also very good to receive so many compliments from both exhibitors and visitors –it was a success for all concerned.
“I am constantly amazed by the quality of the stands at EFTTEX and this year was no exception. Exhibitors really upped their game in Amsterdam with some eye-catching and quality displays that were a credit to the industry.”
Exhibitors expressed satisfaction with another successful event and EFTTEX organisers receiving many favourable comments and positive feedback on the show.
Among those were Stephen McCaveny, Marketing Manager of Daiwa Sports. He said: “The strength and reach of EFTTEX really shone through this year with a confident and vibrant presentation from a wide mix of companies and brands. Thanks to the EFTTA team for its help and enthusiasm.”
Simon Gawesworth, Marketing Manager for US-based RIO Products, added: “This was the best and busiest EFTTEX show RIO and I have ever attended, It was in a wonderful location and the organisation, logistics and general operations were as smooth and faultless as they could ever be.
We had our busiest ever days at the show and most certainly will be coming back again next year. Thanks to EFTTA and the hard working crew for making this such a great success.”
